Purpose
  •  To identify, analyze, evaluate, treat, monitor & review risks plus properly document the processes, primarily risks within & effecting the Business Unit, and to assist with the overall risk management process/ function in Handy Group.
  • To evaluate and monitor Handy Group compliance with key prudential, statutory, monetary authority and other regulatory body requirements.
  • Assist in the development of various policies and procedures to improve the overall internal control & risk frameworks within Handy Group of Companies.
  • To develop, implement and review risk management policies and procedures throughout Handy Group of companies.
  • To ensure that systems and procedures are in place and are operating effectively having regard to the risks they are designed to control.    
Responsibilities
  •  Undertake risk-based audits of business units in relation to compliance with prudential, statutory, monetary authority and other regulatory body requirements in line with a predetermined audit plan and audit program.
  • Complete risk reviews/ risk reports and other assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the mapping of business unit procedures in meeting reporting requirements of prudential & compliance regulations and legislation.
  • Develop suitable monthly audit programs for all appropriate operational policies and product policies.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls of operations and product sales monthly.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over the preparation and compilation of various prudential returns.
  • Verify and confirm on a regular basis that all required prudential returns have been lodged with the relevant authorities when due.
  • Review and comment where necessary on policy & procedural changes implemented by various areas of the Group that affect either those areas or other business units and/or branch network.
  • Assist in the development of various policies and procedures to improve the overall risk control framework within Handy Group.
  • Compile audit & risk reports for review by Team Leader prior to submission to management.
  • Discuss audit & risk reports with relevant line managers where appropriate.
  • Follow up within a reasonable time, reports released to management to ascertain if corrective action has been taken and endeavor to have outstanding matters resolved.

Technical Skills & Knowledge  Qualifications Technical Skills and Knowledge Experience
Tertiary Education

Risk Management Process. Audit process

Banking experience (5 years). Lending experience (5 years). Supervisory/Management experience (2 years).
